Starting new diet/fitness/whatever competition. Measured my bodyfat tonight. Looks like I'm currently at 15.5%. I'm getting pretty consistent readings from the machine, which is good. This assumes I'm normal (non-athletic), 5' 6.5", and weigh 164.5lbs (measured at gym today). Needless to say, my BMI is pretty bad but I think I'm alright for now. Just keepin a log.

Mind if I use this log during our bet, or should I start my own?

Seriously though, 15.5% is a respectable number, especially when you are at a "low" in your training. Good work man! Do you have a goal for the next minth? 12%?

Just got out of the shower and tested again. 16.2% and 16.5%.
I'll test again before lunch. The unit's instructions say that's an optimal time.
And thanks, Nap. Dunno about goals. I think 12% would be mighty respectable, though.

Logged again, just prior to lunch in the Carl's Jr parking lot. This is more than 2 hours after having eaten, as per the instruction's instructions. Results as follows. This will be our baseline.
Seamus: 35.2% Dan: 23.5% Adam: 17.7%

Just for clarification.... I'm baselining at 17.7% bodyfat. That was the measurement I took where I was doing all the things I was supposed to be doing according to the instructions.
For what it's worth, later last night I measured at 19% even. Go figure. But that was on a full stomach blahblahblah so.... I dunno.
Anyways, 17.7% is my baseline. Declaring that right now. Lets see what happens.

As long as it sort of skews everyone's data the same way, then it sort of works. At the end of the day it does not matter what it says, as loing as we are all a bit fitter and healthier it is worth the money you are all going to pay me.
Perhaps we should, in the name of science, do the Navy measurements now and at the end as a second data point for comparison.

Good call. We can do that too for sanity checks. are we supposed to be flexed or relaxed when measuring waist?
Hiatt was measured today just before lunch. Hiatt: 28.5%
