Yeah, I felt iffy about both VNV Nation and Modest Mouse for quite a while, but for some reason they have grown on me. Portishead is my "feeling sorry for myself" music, so yeah. And, as for the singer, people seem to either love or hate her sound, so it's hit or miss with that recommendation. I haven't checked out your recommendations yet, but I will let you know what I think when I get around to it.

Can I get you guys to recommend me some specific songs?
Highlights from albums (with citations as to why you like that particular tune) are way more helpful to me than surfing through an entire album or collection.

That's a little hard for me because most of what I am recommending are songs I have on mixed CDs that people gave me. So, I'm lucky if I know the artist, even luckier if I know the album it came from. Sorry. I will be more specific when I can.

I tend to Google some of the lyrics in cases like those. Of course, with stuff like VNV Nation.... that's often difficult.

Nyeh. Too much effort. Fine, I will try to be better about giving you specifics. But, you will get suggestions lots less frequently in those cases because I hardly ever have the time/attention span to look things up. lol.

Waste, I totally agree with you, and I'll try my best to cite specific songs from albums. Rhapsody sure is useful for that!
Also, I'm not trying to be a walking advertisement or anything, it just turns out the service really rocks.

Song: Banana Ghost Artist: Man Man Album: Six Demon Bag I can't listen to this song without dancing, just can't do it. Keep in mind, I honestly have no idea what the song says because I am too busy dancing to listen to the lyrics.
