Waste already knows about this, but I thought I'd put it out there in case anyone is interested.
My friend Steve has been running a weekly pickup game of deck hockey (that's on foot, kiddies! no skates!) at the Davis Recreation Center. We usually get between 10 and 15 people showing up including goalies, but that spells really tired people after an hour or so. Skill levels range from absolute amateur to snooty French-Canadian super-athletes, but we go to have fun, so everyone's welcome!
If interested, here's all you need:
1) A stick. Can't do wicked slap shots without!
2) Gloves. The only required padding.
3) $6. Reserving the rink for an hour in advance costs about $80, so everyone who plays just hands Steve the cash when they show up.
4) Game Face!
Play starts at 9p.m. every Thursday night at Davis Recreation Center:
Take I-15 North to Exit 317, bear right, then take a left at the second light! It'll be on your right. When you get inside, just tell the person at the desk you're there with the deck hockey guys, and they'll let you right in!
If you have any questions, post them here. But you'd better not have any, cause I was very thorough, and this is, like, 20 minutes of my life I'll never get back, and......and.......oh, right. Hope to see you there!
