How do you pick a good tire. All I can figure out is "ooh, pretty tread!"

Name brand and tire rating. Reviews if there are any available.

IMO, if you are to go off of one thing alone I would say tire rating. Most people, unfortunately, don't understand this.

The standard tire rating has three parts: treadwear, traction, and temperature. You can read about them here:

Personally, I want a tire with an "AA" traction rating. That is by far the most important thing for me.

This is what I like personally:
Treadwear: Anything from 380-500 is great
Traction: "AA" or "A" only. I don't want anything lower.
Temperature: "A" or "B"

Ozzy, since you don't drive particularly fast or aggressively, you could get away with a higher treadwear and sacrifice traction. Higher treadwear implies a longer tire life by using a harder rubber. The tradeoff to this is usually more road noise and degraded traction.

It all depends on what you are looking for in a tire but I agree with Waste about what would probably work for you. Now as for me one of my cars is getting these when it is road worthy again.

UGH! After carefully studying the photos for the 19 millionth time, it looks like she has 3 handguns, an automatic, AND a rifle. Dammit.

Needless to say, the last comment was intended to go under "thread about anything," and has nothing to do with a Civic Spark plug. Sorry.

I think the pants, top, and eye-patch will be the distinguishing characteristics. Throw a chrome/stainless-looking handgun of some sort in a shoulder holster and call it good. Rifle will be too bulky.
