Dear self: This explains how to check the sensor. Do it. http://www.honda-acura.net/forums/integ ... el-on.html Dear everyone else: If you have time to sit with me and make sure I do this, that would rock. |

Why haven't you done this yet? Hasn't your car been broken for the better half of a year now? Quit screwing around and FIX IT ALREADY! |

How the Idle Air control system works: http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthread.p ... d-967.html Talks about a likely place for a vacuum leak: http://www.superhonda.com/forum/f5/iacv ... et-344151/ Suggests that OBD2 Tegs with ATX still have an FITV. References a "Helm's" that I have no idea what it is: http://www.honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=2374835 Explains how to remove and check the FITV on an older Teg: http://www.acuraworld.com/index_files/d ... 20Fix.html Supposedly shows how to clean FITV too, but can't see at work: http://www.team-integra.net/sections/ar ... cleID=1167 |

Threw another check engine light. I keep cleaning the IACV by disconnecting it from the throttle body and spraying it with brake cleaner. I don't disconnect the coolant lines that run through it because I'm lazy and don't want to re-bleed my system. When I do this, it clears up the problem for a few days or so, then it gradually starts to come back. My warm idle is at about 1100-1200 RPM, I think. Things I plan to do eventually: 1. Double check all the bolts on my throttle body and intake manifold. 2. Figure out what my "PCV Valve" is, and inspect it along with all the hoses connected to it. 3. Check my IACV's plug configuration. My mechanic (Ryan Courtwright -- awesome guy) told me he thinks I've got the wrong IACV and computer on there. In the service manual I have from Acura, it looks like it should take a 2-lead connector. Need to make sure it's that one. 4. If all of that checks out, I'm going to replace the IACV itself. 5. If even that doesn't work... back to the drawing boards, I guess! |
